William Tell at the State Fair, this balloon barker was eager to help me do what was necessary to get a good color photo, even risking getting hit by a off target dart.

It was a hot, humid night with a small crowd that made it easy for this guy to joke around and offer himself up for a good photo. The backdrop offered great colors – pinks, blues, yellows, and more.
His fellow barker took aim and one after another missed the target.

Despite the bad aim of his colleague the guy with the balloon between his teeth never flinched. Frankly I was getting nervous for him. He was patient, maybe even more patient than me. Trust me, as those darts fell to the ground I would have been out of there.

But then you figure this has to be a nice diversion for the barkers. Hours cajoling people to come over and drop bucks down for a chance to win an oversized stuff animal has got to wear on you when the humidity and the temps are in the high 80’s at 8 o’clock at night.

But he wasn’t daunted.

Come on throw another one. Try it again, and again, and again.

Thanks, I got my shot.
